vanBasco's Karaoke Player

Отличный бесплатный кароке-плеер. Работает под Linux/Wine, Cedega или CrossOver Office (есть визуальные проблемы с плейлистом, но пользоваться можно) и более наворочен, чем любой родной линуксовый плеер.

Superb karaoke player. Freeware. Successfully works under Linux/Wine, Cedega or CrossOver Office (with some visual problems in playlist, but usable) and much more feature-rich than any native Linux karaoke player.

Why use manual-focus Carl Zeiss lenses on a digital EOS?

Post by Victor Heng at forum.cdegroot.com/viewtopic.php?p=127:

I'm using a canon EOS 300d. When I just got started, I was playing around with zoom lens (28 - 105mm), (100-300mm) and the kit lens (18-55mm).
Then, out of curiosity of the image quality, I went into Canon EF prime lens .. 28mm, 50mm etc. Now I'm using Carl Zeiss on the Canon EOS 300D. It rocks!! .. there-after, I sold off all my Canon prime... Canon lenses are totally out of the league (colour contrast especially). If you convert it to BW pics.. Carl Zeiss wins hands down on those typical consumer lens...
EF auto-focus althought is fully-automatic but is around 90% accurate and it does not explore the possiblities of extremely tricky shots. I may be taking a longer time to focus accurately on my Carl Zeiss, but where depth of field is crucial in that particular picture composition, the focus points can be carefully detailed using manual lens than EF...
I read so many reviews about Carl Zeiss and I've no doubts about its built, quality and sharpness. Low distortion and good flare control... The price for 2nd hand Carl Zeiss is getting so much better than people are flocking into digital EOS or Nikon realms..
I'm still a faith believer of manual lens, although on a digital body... with manual settings of course.

Kylie Minogue with Contax RTS

From "The Locomotion" clip (1988):

Kylie Minogue with Contax (from The Locomotion clip)

Resolution of the frames doesn't allow to say for sure, but it looks like Kylie holds Contax RTS or RTS II with Planar 50/1.4 :)

P.S. After looking a bit closer, the lens is too long for 50mm. More like 85/1.4...
